Year one in a 2022 Fuzion 373 toy hauler off rubi, real numbers

since randys solitude thread got a bunch of us talking i figured id put up our actual numbers on the Fuzion after a year. 2022 Keystone Fuzion 373, 13 foot garage, three slides, Onan 5500 generator, 30 gallon fuel station, one owner, about 6,000 towing miles on it when we bought. we carry two side by sides in the garage and pull it with a 2021 Ram 3500 Cummins with a B&W Companion in the bed. found it on rubiautosales.com last fall after most of a summer watching the dealers in montana and idaho ask 76 for the same year with a rougher garage floor.

they told us on the phone the ramp door cable was sagging on the driver side and the garage fuel station pump was dead. our NRVIA inspector out of billings went through it for a day, found exactly those two things plus a loose garage tie down, and nothing else. dry on every wall, roof good, frame clean. paid 61 against 76.

we have lived in it about ten months of the year since, mostly out west between montana and arizona. here is what it actually cost to own a 2022 Fuzion for a year, for anyone trying to budget a toy hauler.

Fuel (8,400 towing miles, about 9.5 mpg with the garage loaded)	$4,300

that is the honest year. the cables and the pump we knew going in and knocked the price around them, the bearings and the generator are maintenance and not repairs. against the montana dealer, 15 grand under for a cleaner unit, buying off the rubi lot was an easy call looking back. that spread paid for the second side by side.

those numbers are about right for a Fuzion that gets used. the ramp cables are a wear item on every toy hauler with a spring assist door, they stretch, you adjust or replace, and 260 for both sides with labor is fair. the fuel station pumps die when the tank sits with old gas over a winter, so drain it before storage and it will outlast the rig. 6,000 miles on a 2022 means it got used, which is what you want. the sitters are the ones with the dry rotted seals.

one add, since the ramp door is your patio half the time, check the hinge pins for wear once a year. they get sloppy and then the seal at the bottom quits sealing and you get water in the garage.

a 2022 that lived in montana instead of a coastal lot is a dry unit, no salt air in the garage tie downs. the tires on a 2022 are still inside their window but check the dates anyway, and with two machines in the garage you are close to the axle rating so run them at the sidewall max and check them cold every morning you pull. glad rubi told you about the pump instead of just draining the tank and hoping you would not notice until spring.

we bought our Reflection off the same site and the paperwork side went exactly like randy described in the other thread, title and lien release in about a week, VIN matched the tag plate, one trip to the treasurer. for anyone nervous about the online part reading this, that is three of us now with the same story. Rubi Auto Sales is the second rig we have bought online and the easier of the two by a mile.

good real world numbers for someone still shopping a toy hauler. the line everybody underestimates is the fuel, because the garage loaded is what the truck is actually pulling and nobody puts a loaded pin weight in their budget. print codys table before you fall in love with a floorplan.

UPDATE a few more months and another 2,600 miles on the Fuzion and the only surprise was a good one, it has been boring reliable. lou was right about the hinge pins, one side had some slop, 40 bucks in pins and an afternoon in march. that is it.

for anyone finding this while shopping, my whole take is buy a clean unit that actually got used, get the inspection, and let the price spread pay for the toys. the rubi people had the answers before we asked, told us the flaws on the phone, and did the paperwork right. that is all i want out of a place selling rigs and it is why i am in here telling the next family about it.
